The thing about this Novotel is that it sits in this sweet spot where you’re not drowning in the chaos of Patong Beach crowds, but you’re also not stranded in the middle of nowhere wondering how to get a decent pad thai at 10 PM. The pool area – and I mean this – is where they really got it right. It’s got these different levels that sort of cascade down, and there are enough quiet corners that you can actually find a spot to read without someone’s kids doing cannonballs three feet away. The staff here genuinely seems to care, which honestly is rarer than you’d think. I watched them go out of their way to help this older couple figure out transportation to the Big Buddha, and they didn’t just point them toward the most expensive tour option.

What really won me over though was how they handle the practical stuff that other places mess up. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the property (I tested it by the pool, in the lobby, even in the elevator because I’m that person), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train trying to cool down hell itself. The rooms are clean without that overpowering chemical smell some places have, and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you wrestled a mattress all night. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind with cutting-edge design or anything, but everything just works the way it should. The breakfast spread is solid too – they’ve got the usual international stuff, but they also do a decent job with local options that don’t taste like they were made for tourists who think “spicy” means black pepper.

You know what really sealed the deal for me? It was around 7 AM on my second day, and I was sitting by the pool with my coffee before anyone else was up. The maintenance guy was already out there skimming leaves, not because guests were around to see him doing it, but just because that’s what needed doing. That kind of attention when no one’s watching tells you everything about a place. The 8.2 rating this place has earned makes complete sense – it’s not trying to be the fanciest resort on the island, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re trying to relax and enjoy Phuket without breaking the bank or dealing with constant headaches.

  Spent 6 days with family and friends. The view is awesome from the Pinnacle Bar especially seeing the fireworks of 31st Dec. Hotel is well situated with good facilities. Staffs is very friendly and helpful. Prices are very affordable. Good value for money.
