When I asked about good local eats, the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a tourist pamphlet – he actually drew me a little map showing which street stalls were best for what, and mentioned that the curry vendor two blocks over closes early on Wednesdays (saved me a disappointing walk later that week). The rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed, with these gorgeous tile floors that stay cool even when it’s blazing outside. I’ll be honest though, if you’re a light sleeper, the street-facing rooms can get a bit noisy in the early morning when the market vendors start setting up. The AC works like a dream, which honestly is half the battle in this climate.

The location is what really makes this place special – you’re walking distance from all those colorful shophouses and art galleries along Thalang Road, plus the Sunday night market practically happens right outside your door. I loved being able to wander out for morning coffee at one of the old-school kopitiam shops, then spend the afternoon exploring the temples and museums without needing to deal with taxis or that whole beach resort shuttle situation. Sure, the pool is pretty small and more for cooling off than actual swimming, and don’t expect a full-service spa or anything fancy like that. But for the price point and that authentic old town vibe, it’s exactly what you want if you’re trying to experience the real Phuket beyond just beaches and tourist traps. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout the building, which I definitely needed for work, and they’ve got this nice little breakfast spread with both Thai and Western options – nothing revolutionary, but the local fruits were always perfectly ripe and the coffee was strong enough to get you moving.

  Great location, close to old town – in walking distance. Just a few minutes walk to bus terminal 1 with great connections to other areas for good prices! Was fantastic for our onward journey to the airport. Room was clean, staff were nice and polite.
