Best Western Patong Beach Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first rolled up to Best Western Patong Beach, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty standard mid-range hotel. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in all the right ways. The location is spot-on if you want to be in the thick of things in Patong without dealing with the absolute chaos of Bangla Road (though trust me, you’ll still hear some of that nightlife buzz if you’re facing the wrong direction).
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually care about making your stay work. I mean, I’ve stayed at plenty of four-star places where they just go through the motions, but here they remember your name after day two and genuinely ask how your day trips went. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but the air con works like a dream (crucial in that humidity), and the beds are surprisingly good for a chain hotel. The pool area is where I ended up spending way more time than planned. It’s this nice little oasis where you can actually have a conversation without shouting over jet skis and beach vendors. The water’s always clean, and there are enough loungers that you’re not fighting for a spot even during high season.
Here’s what locals probably won’t tell you – the hotel sits just far enough back from the main beach drag that you avoid most of the street noise, but you can still walk to the good massage places and those little family-run restaurants in about three minutes. The night market is practically around the corner, and if you’re into the whole Patong nightlife scene, well, you’re close enough to stumble back safely. I stayed during what turned out to be a pretty busy week in March, and while the lobby got hectic around check-in time, the elevators never felt crowded and the breakfast area (decent spread, by the way – real coffee, not just instant) had plenty of space to sit and plan your day. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches or Instagram-worthy design, but sometimes you just want a reliable place that does the basics really well. The shower pressure is excellent, the WiFi actually works throughout the building, and housekeeping doesn’t wake you up at 7 AM. For Patong, where you’re probably spending most of your time exploring anyway, that’s honestly all you need.
