I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Ya Nui Resort – SHA EXTRA Plus, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a three-star place in this part of Phuket. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries come when you’re not overthinking things, and this little gem near Ya Nui Beach turned out to be exactly that kind of pleasant surprise.

The thing about this resort is that it gets the fundamentals really right without trying to be something it’s not. I mean, sure, it’s not going to blow you away with marble lobbies or infinity pools that stretch to the horizon, but what it does have is this genuinely relaxed vibe that feels authentic rather than manufactured. The rooms are clean and comfortable – actually comfortable, not just “fine for a night” – and the staff seems to genuinely care about making sure you’re sorted. I noticed they remember your name after the first day, which honestly means more than fancy amenities sometimes. The location is what really sold me though. You’re close enough to Ya Nui Beach that you can practically roll out of bed and onto the sand, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually hear yourself think. And let me tell you, if you’ve spent any time in the busier parts of Phuket, that peace and quiet feels like luxury itself.

What I really appreciated was how the place attracts a good mix of travelers – not just the party crowd or just families, but people who seem to actually want to experience this part of Thailand rather than just Instagram it. The resort sits in this sweet spot where you can walk to some excellent local spots that most tourists never find (there’s this little seafood place about ten minutes away that doesn’t even have a proper sign, but the tom yum is incredible). Parking was never an issue, which sounds mundane but trust me, it matters when you’re trying to explore the southern beaches. The pool area gets lovely afternoon light, and I found myself spending more time there than I expected, just reading and occasionally chatting with other guests. It’s that kind of place where conversations happen naturally rather than feeling forced. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the Wi-Fi can be a bit patchy in some rooms, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise depending on what kind of trip you’re after. With an 8.6 rating from other travelers, I’m clearly not the only one who found this place to be a solid choice – it delivers on what it promises without the pretense, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Loved everything about our stay here – quiet area, but still close to everything (we used motorbike), beautiful trees and flowers in the hotel territory.
  He had the smallest studio in this hotel, but it is still bigger then simple double rooms in other hotels.
  Staff and the owner are really friendly and caring people 🙂

  Very clean and well run. Gabrielle, the owner, makes sure all guests are taken care of in any way possible. The staff was so kind and helpful. Off the beaten path. No noise. All the rooms open up to a beautiful tropical pool. The traffic is manageable so scooter rental is easy for within a couple of miles and grab for longer distances. Wonderful menu at the restaurant with lots of selection and the kindest ladies that run it. We will be back.

  We like that the rooms are a good size and they were clean. They gave us a free ride to the beach. The bedding was clean from stains. They provided pool towels and shower towels. The pool was clean and nice. The court yard was nice. No beach access.
