Xinlor House – Phuket Old Town Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Xinlor House – Phuket Old Town, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical beach resort — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This three-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Old Town on Dibuk Road, where the real character of Phuket actually lives. The building itself has this charming Sino-Portuguese architecture that you see throughout the historic district, but it’s been thoughtfully restored without losing that authentic feel.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what really struck me about staying here? You’re literally in the middle of everything that makes Phuket Town worth exploring. I mean, step outside and you’re surrounded by those colorful shophouses, local coffee shops, and street art that tourists usually have to hunt for. The weekend walking market happens right around the corner, and you can actually walk to proper Thai restaurant where locals eat — not the touristy stuff you find near the beaches. Couples seem to absolutely love this area (they rate it 9.7), and I can see why — it’s got that romantic, old-world vibe without being overly polished.
The Room Experience
Here’s something I wasn’t expecting — the beds are genuinely fantastic. I usually struggle with hotel beds being too soft or too firm, but they’ve really nailed it here. The room itself feels like a blend of modern comfort and local character, with thoughtful touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The air conditioning works perfectly (crucial in Thailand), and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling cramped. It’s not fancy, but everything works exactly as it should.
What Makes It Special
This place has earned a 9.6 location score, and after staying here, I totally understand why. You’re getting an authentic Phuket experience that most visitors completely miss because they head straight to the beach resorts. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the best local spots without the usual tourist markup. Plus, you can easily catch a tuk-tuk or taxi to the beaches when you want that side of Phuket, but you’ll actually want to come back to explore more of the old town.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets Xinlor House apart is that it gives you the best of both worlds — you’re staying somewhere with real character and local flavor, but you’re not sacrificing comfort or cleanliness. The 9.0 overall rating reflects what I experienced: solid fundamentals done really well. It’s perfect for travelers who want to experience the cultural side of Phuket without giving up modern amenities. Honestly, if you’re the type who prefers discovering local neighborhoods over resort pools, this is exactly where you want to be.

Very Querky Vibe. An engineer-meets-architect art style echoing through the building making it quite unique. Nice style building with open air atrium

The hotel is lovely. The decoration is really nice. On a side road so a little bit quieter.

It is comfortable, clean, modern and has everything you need for exploring Phuket Old Town or further afield. The decor in the reception area and downstairs cafe is cool. It’s an amazing location for exploring the old town. There are 2 fantastic restaurants opposite, including Royde which is a Michelin star restaurant. Recommend booking in advance, we sadly didn’t get to eat here as we hadn’t pre booked but it looks amazing and heard good things.
