I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Waterfront Karon Beach by PHR, I wasn’t sure what to expect. You know how some hotels promise beachfront views and then you’re squinting through palm trees three blocks away? Well, this isn’t one of those places. This four-star property actually delivers on that waterfront promise, and I mean you can practically roll out of bed onto Karon Beach.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to keep that laid-back Phuket vibe without sacrificing the polish you want in a decent hotel. The lobby has this open-air thing going on where you can hear the waves from the moment you walk in – honestly, it’s pretty magical at sunset when the light starts bouncing off the water. I stayed here during shoulder season in October, and while there were definitely some afternoon showers (it’s Thailand, after all), the covered areas meant you could still enjoy your morning coffee without getting soaked. The staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, which you notice more than you’d think, especially after dealing with some of the more touristy spots in Phuket where everyone’s just going through the motions.

The rooms are what you’d call thoughtfully designed – nothing too fancy, but everything works and the beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses after too many nights on hotel rocks). Most importantly, if you spring for an ocean view room, you’re getting the real deal. I could literally watch the longtail boats heading out in the morning while brushing my teeth. The bathrooms are modern enough, though the water pressure can be a bit temperamental – but honestly, that’s pretty standard for this part of Thailand. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night. Karon Beach doesn’t have the party scene of Patong, so you can actually sleep with your balcony doors open and just listen to the waves. The pool area gets busy around mid-morning when families start filtering down, but if you’re an early riser like me, you’ll have it mostly to yourself until about 9 AM. Walking into town takes maybe ten minutes if you don’t mind the slight uphill trek back, and there are enough local restaurants within stumbling distance that you won’t feel trapped eating hotel food every night – though their breakfast spread is actually pretty solid for a four-star place.

  Great location, near are restaurants and shops. Walk to the beach around 2 mins. Apartment is spacious, pretty fresh and has 2 balconies. Pool is also fine. Owner is super friendly and allowed us earlier arrival without extra charge. We had 9th floor and a view on a sea, which was great.

  great location, literally 3 minutes walk to the beach and all the nearby shops, and best sea view in Karin as this this only tall building in the area, with nice managed apartment style, the pool is very nice. room is spacious and clean, all very good, we can cook dishes eith all brand new kitchen ware.
