Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Vivace Hotel – I mean, it’s a three-star place and you know how those can be hit or miss. But this little gem completely caught me off guard in the best possible way. The moment you walk into the lobby, there’s this warm, energetic vibe that actually matches the name (vivace means “lively” in Italian, and they really nailed that concept). The staff greeted me like I was staying at a boutique property, not your typical mid-tier hotel, and the check-in was refreshingly smooth – no awkward waiting around or system glitches.

What really got me was how thoughtfully designed everything felt without being pretentious about it. My room had this perfect balance of modern touches and comfort that actually worked – you know how some places try too hard with the contemporary look and forget you need a decent place to set your stuff? Not here. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom had one of those rain showerheads that actually had good water pressure. The whole place felt clean in that deep-clean way, not just surface tidy. I also loved that they didn’t go overboard with unnecessary amenities but got the important stuff right – solid Wi-Fi, blackout curtains that actually blocked light, and a coffee setup that made decent coffee, not that sad packet stuff.

The thing that really impressed me was how the staff seemed to anticipate what you’d need without hovering. They clearly pay attention to details – fresh towels appeared without me asking, and when I mentioned I was trying to find a good local breakfast spot, the front desk guy gave me three solid recommendations that were actually walking distance away, not tourist traps. You can tell this place has found its rhythm and knows exactly what it’s doing. For a three-star hotel, it honestly performs way above its category – I’ve stayed at supposedly fancier places that felt more generic and less welcoming. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between value and quality, where you feel taken care of without paying resort prices, this is definitely worth booking.

  The location of the hotel is great & accessible to beach, bars & restaurants.

  Vivace is a very nice hotel. Best in the Kamala Beach and very walkable to main beach and road. Ju and Zen are two of the best hosts I've ever met in my travels. And our room was sparkly clean, modern, with nice room amenities and oh my word, the bed and the rain shower were heavenly.

  Quiet little gem, off the noisy bars but still within walking distance. Couple of rooms only, not your resort style of hotel but if you look for the following, you will be happy:
  
  -supet friendly staff
  -clean rooms, very clean
  -150-200m to beach, along the way you'll pass by shops such 7/11 so you won't die while walking 🙂
  -don't expect a big pool with DJ etc, simply enjoy this hotel as a quiet & hidden gem
  -eateries within 100m, or 200m depends on what you like
  -for the single mens: party district within 200m, just in case

  Nice, quiet hotel behind the busy beach street but just 100 m away. Great room with everything you need. Fantastic and friendly staff that was very helpful and quick in responding to any question. Nice with the private staicase to the swimming pool. Good restaurants nearby.
