Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of luxury places in Phuket, but Villa Tanya by Mandla Luxury Villas, Rawai honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you first pull up (parking‘s never an issue here, by the way), it doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of those flashy resorts up in Patong. Instead, it’s got this understated elegance that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special that not everyone knows about yet.

The thing about Rawai is that it’s where you go when you actually want to experience Thailand, not just Instagram it. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Rawai Beach – which, okay, isn’t the prettiest for swimming but is absolutely perfect for those long-tail boat trips to the islands. And honestly, the seafood market right there is incredible; I mean, where else can you pick out your dinner from boats that just came in and have it grilled right in front of you? The villa staff actually helped me coordinate a private boat trip once, and they clearly knew the good operators, not just the touristy ones. What really sets this five-star property apart is how it manages to feel both luxurious and livable. The villa itself is spacious without being intimidating – you know those places where you’re afraid to touch anything? This isn’t that. The pool area is where I spent most mornings with coffee, and there’s something about the way it’s positioned that you get these amazing views but still feel completely private. The staff here actually remembers your name and your preferences, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is these days.

I’ll be honest, Rawai can get a bit quiet in the evenings compared to other parts of Phuket, but that’s exactly why I keep coming back to this area. You’re close enough to Nai Harn Beach (about ten minutes) when you want that postcard-perfect scenery, and Chalong is right there too if you need the bigger restaurants and nightlife. But there’s something really nice about ending your day at the villa, maybe ordering in some Thai food, and just enjoying the peace. The air conditioning works perfectly – crucial detail in that humidity – and the beds are actually comfortable, not just expensive-looking. If you’re the type who needs to be in the middle of everything every second, maybe this isn’t your spot. But if you want luxury that feels authentic rather than manufactured, and you appreciate being in a part of Phuket that still feels connected to local life, Villa Tanya gets it right. Plus, that perfect rating they’ve got? After staying here, I actually understand why.

  The breakfast in the villa is very special. We did not pay for this as included in the villa rate. The Villa Manager (Moo) and Villa team are friendly and professional like a 5-star resort. The Villa itself is amazing, It is a newly modern duplex with designed of smart Hi-technology for security and convenience. We enjoyed the villa so much as its premium amenities and facilities including dinner cooked by chef with excellent Wi-Fi connection. We went to Rawai, Naiharn beach before we check-out by the free shuttle service offered by the villa, only 5- 10 minutes away. The villa team is happy to assist us with whatever we need. That's a pity for our stay that we have only 1 night in Rawai, however, my family and I will come back for sure. ! Miss this villa and team already! Recommended!
