The living areas flow together really nicely, and there’s this outdoor terrace situation where you’ll probably end up spending most of your time because, well, why wouldn’t you when you’re looking out at the Andaman Sea? I loved that they actually thought about practical stuff too – the kitchen is properly equipped if you want to hit the local markets in nearby Chalong and cook some of that incredible Thai produce, and there’s real air conditioning that works, not just ceiling fans pretending to keep you cool in 85-degree weather.

What really sets this place apart is the location within Cape Panwa itself. You’re close enough to the Phuket Aquarium and Cape Panwa Hotel’s facilities if you want some action, but far enough from the main tourist strips that you feel like you’ve found something special. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s those little touches like actually comfortable outdoor furniture, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and windows that frame the sunset perfectly from the main living area. The beach here is this lovely stretch of sand that doesn’t get completely packed with tour groups, partly because Cape Panwa requires a bit more effort to reach than the obvious spots. I actually saw more locals here than anywhere else I stayed in Phuket, which usually means you’ve found somewhere good. Fair warning though – you’ll want to rent a scooter or car because while the isolation is part of the charm, getting to restaurants and markets requires a bit of planning. But honestly? After a day or two, you might find yourself perfectly content ordering in some pad thai and just watching the boats drift by from your terrace.
