The villa itself feels like someone’s wealthy Thai uncle decided to rent out his weekend retreat. There’s this effortless luxury thing going on, nothing too flashy or Instagram-desperate, just really solid comfort. The private pool is definitely the star here – not Olympic-sized, but perfect for that morning swim before the day gets too hot. I actually found myself using it more than the beach some days, especially when I wanted to read without sand getting in my book pages.

What really got me was how thoughtfully everything’s set up. The kitchen actually works (shocking, I know), so you can grab fresh seafood from the local market and not feel like you’re camping. The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, which honestly deserves its own award in this climate. Parking‘s no drama if you rent a scooter, though honestly, you might find yourself wanting to stay put more than you’d expect. The 9.5 rating this place has earned makes total sense once you’ve spent a few days here – it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, just doing the beachside villa thing really, really well.

  What a find – possibly the best idea we have had staying in a villa with so much space, its own pool and so close to the main street area. It is exactly what you see in the pictures – clean and an absolute dream to have that extra space. It is in more of a residential area so no noise at night – so amazing and virtually no lights keeping you awake either.
  
  Still only a five minute walk to the bars, places to eat and hire locations.
