I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name VILLA EMERE | Private Pool | Onyx Villas by Tropiclook | Naiharn beach, I thought it was a bit much with all those bars and brands thrown together. But you know what? Once I actually got there, none of that mattered because this place is genuinely something special. It’s tucked away in the hills above Naiharn beach (and I mean properly tucked away – your taxi driver might need GPS help finding it), but that’s exactly what makes it work.

The villa itself feels like someone’s actual vacation home rather than a typical hotel room, which makes sense since it’s part of these five-star private villas they’ve got scattered around the area. The pool is the real star here – it’s not huge, but it’s perfectly positioned so you can float around while looking out over the jungle canopy toward the Andaman Sea. I spent way too many mornings just sitting on the edge with coffee, watching the mist burn off the hills. The whole setup is modern without being sterile, if that makes sense – lots of natural wood and stone, but with proper air conditioning and a kitchen that actually works (trust me, I cooked in it). The bedroom opens right onto the pool area, which sounds fancy but honestly just means you’ll hear the water feature all night. Some people love that sound, others might find it keeps them up.

What really sold me on the place, though, is how they’ve managed to feel isolated while still being reasonably close to everything you’d want in Phuket. Naiharn beach is maybe a ten-minute drive down winding roads that’ll make you grateful for the villa’s peace and quiet when you get back. The beach itself is still one of the less crowded ones on the island – especially if you go early morning or late afternoon when the tour groups have cleared out. There’s a decent restaurant scene developing around there too, not just the usual tourist traps. I mean, you’re still paying resort prices for most things, but at least the food is good. The villa management actually gave me some solid recommendations that I never would’ve found on my own, including this little Thai place tucked behind the 7-Eleven that does incredible som tam. Getting around requires either renting a scooter (which I’d recommend if you’re comfortable with Phuket traffic) or budgeting for taxis, since you’re definitely not walking anywhere from up there. But honestly, that’s kind of the point – you go there to disconnect a bit, use that beautiful pool, and feel like you’ve got your own slice of tropical paradise without having to share it with fifty other hotel guests.
