You know what really caught me off guard about Villa Desi? The moment you walk through those front doors, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place. I mean, I’ve stayed at plenty of four-star hotels that feel like they’re running on autopilot, but this one’s different – there’s a warmth here that’s honestly pretty rare these days.

The staff genuinely remembers your name after the first day, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re dragging yourself back after a long day of exploring. And speaking of exploring, the location is actually perfect for getting around without feeling like you’re stuck in some tourist bubble. You can walk to most places you’d want to see, but it’s tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with street noise all night. I’m usually pretty sensitive to sound when I’m trying to sleep, and I had zero issues here – slept like a baby every single night.

What really impressed me, though, was how they handle the little things that can make or break a stay. The WiFi actually works (revolutionary concept, I know), the shower pressure is fantastic, and they keep the common areas spotless without making you feel like you can’t relax in them. The rooms have this comfortable, lived-in elegance – not stuffy or overdone, just really well thought out. There’s enough space to spread out your stuff without tripping over your suitcase every time you get up, and the beds are legitimately comfortable, not just hotel-comfortable. I actually found myself looking forward to getting back to my room each evening, which doesn’t always happen when you’re traveling. The whole place just has this attention to detail that shows they understand what travelers actually need, not just what looks good in photos. Honestly, with a perfect rating like theirs, you’d expect something special, and Villa Desi definitely delivers on that expectation.

  This villa was perfect for our week-long stay. Firstly, it looks exactly like it does in the online photos, and is comfortable and has everything you could possibly need, including a fully equipped kitchen, 3 bathrooms, laundry facilities onsite, a gym at the entrance gate, air conditioning in each room, wifi, and a beautiful swimming pool.
  
  The area where the villa is located is gated, and has security permanently stationed at the entrance. We felt completely safe at all times (although we felt completely safe at all times whilst in Thailand).
  
  It was clean, and all the dealings I had with the owner and his staff were easy. We paid a little extra so we could stay until 6pm on our day of check-out, a request that was granted very last minute, but were were eternally grateful as it gave us another (almost) full day with the pool and the comforts of the villa and we didn't have to kill 8 hours sight-seeing (which would have been great, but without our own creature comforts – and we were travelling with a young child).
  
  There are sensational options for eating and massages within a short walk (just down to the main road) where we happily sampled a range of local food at great prices – and the locals were the most friendly people!
  
  We really can't say enough positive things about this villa, we didn't want to leave!
