What really got me though was the attention to small stuff – like how they actually have decent water pressure in the shower, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine taking off.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I went: the pool area gets pretty busy around mid-afternoon when the day-trippers from other parts of Phuket figure out this is a good spot to grab drinks, but early morning and evening? It’s perfect. The restaurant situation is solid too – not groundbreaking, but they know what they’re doing with both Thai dishes and western comfort food. I actually found myself eating there more than I planned, which says something since I usually prefer hunting down street food.
