The pool area became my default hangout spot every afternoon around 3 PM when the heat gets a bit much – there’s this perfect shaded corner where you can actually hear the birds over any distant road noise. Speaking of noise, it’s refreshingly quiet here, especially compared to some of the busier spots closer to Patong.

What really won me over was how the villa manages to feel authentically Thai without being kitschy about it. The four bedrooms are spacious (honestly, way more room than most hotel setups), and each one has these traditional touches that feel genuine rather than staged for photos. The kitchen is fully functional too, which matters more than you’d think when you want to grab fresh fruit from the local markets and not pay resort prices for everything. I actually spent a good chunk of one morning just wandering around Rawai’s morning market – it’s maybe a 10-minute drive – then came back to make proper Thai coffee on the villa’s terrace. That kind of flexibility is gold when you’re traveling with a group or family who all have different schedules and preferences. The location works really well for exploring this part of the island too; Rawai Beach itself is nice for sunset walks (though not the best for swimming, if we’re being real), and you’re positioned perfectly for day trips to the nearby islands or even just hopping between the different beach scenes along the southern coast. It strikes that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special and local, but you’re not sacrificing convenience or comfort to get there.
