The Yorkshire Hotel – SHA Certified Overview
I’ll be honest, when I first walked into The Yorkshire Hotel – SHA Certified, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place – but you know what? Sometimes those assumptions are completely wrong. There’s something genuinely welcoming about this spot that caught me off guard, and I mean that in the best way possible. The lobby has this comfortable, lived-in feeling that makes you think actual people designed it instead of some corporate committee. You can tell they’ve put thought into the little things – the lighting is warm without being dim, and there’s usually a gentle hum of conversation that makes the space feel alive rather than sterile.
What really struck me during my stay was how the staff seemed to actually remember guests from day to day. I’m talking about the kind of place where the front desk person asks if you want your usual morning coffee, or where housekeeping notices you prefer extra towels without you having to ask twice. It’s not fancy in that intimidating way some hotels try to pull off, but it’s thoughtful – and honestly, that matters more when you’re trying to get a decent night’s sleep or need genuine help with directions. The rooms themselves are clean and functional, though I’d recommend asking for something away from the elevator if you’re a light sleeper like me. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have proper water pressure, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get that wrong.
Here’s the thing about this hotel – it’s got character without trying too hard to be quirky. The common areas have these little nooks where you can sit with a book or your laptop, and there’s usually decent WiFi throughout, which I definitely tested extensively. I noticed they’re SHA certified too, which means they’ve met specific health and safety protocols – something that’s become pretty important to a lot of travelers lately. The neighborhood itself has this authentic feel where you’ll see locals going about their daily routines alongside tourists, and there are some solid dining options within walking distance if you don’t feel like venturing too far. I particularly appreciated that check-in was straightforward and quick, no unnecessary upselling or complicated key card systems that never work properly. Look, it’s not going to wow you with marble lobbies or over-the-top amenities, but if you want a place that feels reliable and genuinely hospitable without breaking the bank, this spot delivers on that promise. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
To book a hotel in Phuket during peak season from December to March, travelers need early planning as this stunning island draws visitors eager to experience its crystal-clear waters and world-famous sunset views.

The Yorkshire Hotel has a prime location on Soi Sansabai just minutes away from famous Bangla Road and the beach.
The facilities are squeaky clean and well maintained. The accompanying pool, wellness and gym facilities are great and a rare find for a hotel in this location, especially for the price.
Shout out to the staff who speak English really well, are very helpful and kind and just overall great folks.

Still one of the best swimmingpool area's in this price range, but could use some renovation work. Don't know if they work on this, but during my last stay the sauna was under reconstruction. The downstairs yorkshire restaurant still have great food options.
