Look, I’ll be honest with you – The Viridian Resort – SHA Plus isn’t going to blow you away with luxury, but there’s something genuinely refreshing about a place that knows exactly what it is. This three-star property has that comfortable, lived-in feeling that makes you want to kick off your shoes and actually relax instead of worrying about whether you’re fancy enough for the lobby.

What struck me most during my stay was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting the details right. You know what I mean – the kind of place where someone actually remembers you mentioned you’re an early riser and makes sure the coffee’s ready by 6 AM. The rooms are clean and well-maintained (honestly, cleaner than some supposedly higher-end places I’ve stayed), and while the furnishings aren’t cutting-edge, everything works properly. The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, the Wi-Fi actually reaches every corner of the room, and the water pressure in the shower is surprisingly decent. Small things, but they add up when you’re trying to unwind.

The pool area becomes this lovely little social hub in the evenings – nothing too crazy, just people chatting over drinks and kids splashing around while parents finally get five minutes to breathe. I actually ended up having some great conversations with fellow travelers there, which doesn’t always happen at bigger resorts where everyone sort of keeps to themselves. The restaurant serves solid comfort food (their green curry is legitimately good, not just hotel-good), and while the breakfast buffet isn’t elaborate, they nail the basics and there’s always fresh fruit that actually tastes like fruit. One thing worth mentioning – if you’re the type who needs everything perfectly pristine and Instagram-ready, this might not be your spot. But if you’re looking for a place that feels authentic and welcoming without breaking the bank, where you can have a proper vacation without all the pretense, then yeah, The Viridian Resort really delivers on that promise.
