This five-star property sits right on Karon Beach, and I mean *right* on it – you can literally roll out of bed, stumble down to the sand, and be swimming in about three minutes.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to feel both upscale and genuinely Thai at the same time. You know how some luxury hotels in Phuket can feel like they could be anywhere in the world? Not this place. The lobby has this beautiful blend of contemporary design with local touches that actually mean something – hand-carved wooden panels and traditional textiles that don’t scream “tourist trap.” The staff genuinely seems to care too, which honestly surprised me given how busy Karon gets during peak season. I watched the front desk manager personally walk an elderly guest to their room because the elevator was being temperamental that day.

The rooms themselves are spacious – and I mean properly spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious. My balcony overlooked the Andaman Sea, and watching the longtail boats head out at sunrise became my daily ritual (well, when I wasn’t too tired from the night markets in Patong). The beach right outside is way less chaotic than Patong Beach but still has enough happening that you won’t get bored. There’s this little stretch where the local fishermen still bring their boats in around 6 AM, and honestly, it’s worth getting up early just to watch. The hotel’s pool area gets the perfect afternoon breeze, which is crucial when you’re dealing with that humid Phuket heat. One thing though – if you’re planning to visit during high season, book dinner reservations early because their restaurant fills up fast, and while room service is solid, you’ll want to experience their Thai fusion menu at least once. It’s the kind of place where you actually feel like you’re experiencing Thailand, not just visiting a resort that happens to be in Thailand.

  All staff members were excellent; including maid service, security and maintenance. Two staff members I would like to mention in particular were Charlene and Touc. From the first to the last moment I dealt with Charlene she was extremely: efficient, professional, kind, friendly, courteous and helpful. She went out of her way on several occasions to help me and answer my questions. Touc was also extremely helpful, courteous and efficient; in particular when booking a multitude of activities through the Proud Karon he handled it in a clear, concise, efficient and rapid manner. I would STRONGLY recommend Charlene and Touc for any supervisor or manager positions that may / will occur with your organization now and in the future.

  The room, oh the room. It was super spacious with 2 sections together (living room and bedroom) that you can separate. The bathroom was on another level, centrally located huge bathtub easily can fit 2 people, just like shower. What I really liked is that the room was full of electrical outlets everywhere (my current hotel room in another 4* hotel only have 1)and if you have many devices to charge you will love this hotel. The swimming pool has rather a decorative function but you can cool yourself in it.
