The location is what really sets this place apart though. Phuket can get pretty hectic, but Layan Beach feels worlds away from all that chaos. You’re still close enough to venture into the busier areas when you want some action – maybe twenty minutes to get to the good night markets or that excellent seafood place everyone talks about near Bang Tao. But honestly, I found myself barely leaving the property because everything I needed was right there. The spa treatments are ridiculously good (I’m usually skeptical of hotel spas, but this one converted me), and the restaurant serves some of the best Thai fusion I’ve had anywhere on the island. They source a lot of their ingredients locally, which you can actually taste – the fish is clearly coming straight from local boats, not some frozen supply chain.

One thing that really impressed me was how well they handle the monsoon season. I was there during a particularly wet stretch in September, and while other places I’d stayed in Thailand basically shut down during heavy rains, here it just felt cozy. The covered walkways actually make sense, the villa design keeps things dry, and there’s enough indoor space that you never feel trapped. The whole place maintains this 8.9 rating for good reason – it’s those little details that add up. Like how they remember your preferred breakfast time after day two, or the way they’ve positioned everything to catch those incredible sunset views without having to crane your neck around some poorly placed building. If you’re looking for that perfect balance between luxury and authenticity in Thailand, this place nails it without trying too hard.

  This place is just the definition of luxury. Everything is amazing. We were in a spa and pool villa and it is difficult to describe the two story space. The living area is almos the size of a tenis court with huge sofa, eating table, working area, kitchenette area. We had our private spa room with two massage beds, steam sauna… The bedroom just a dream made true, two showers, one in and one outside, jacuzzi… And the pool and resting area… Your jaw drops… Then two breakfast spots, restaurants… And the best of all the service.
