This three-star spot has that comfortable, lived-in feeling that makes you think the owners actually care about getting the basics right rather than impressing you with flashy lobbies.

What really won me over was how genuinely functional everything felt. The rooms aren’t going to blow you away with designer touches, but honestly, they’re thoughtfully put together – good lighting where you actually need it, outlets in logical places, and beds that don’t leave you wondering if they were assembled from spare parts. I mean, you’d be surprised how many hotels get those fundamentals wrong. The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained, with decent water pressure (always a gamble, right?), and the housekeeping staff clearly takes pride in their work. I noticed they’d even arranged the towels in a way that felt welcoming without being overly formal.

The staff here really makes the difference though – they have this relaxed professionalism that puts you at ease immediately. Check-in was smooth, no unnecessary upselling or fake enthusiasm, just helpful people who seem to know their neighborhood well. They gave me solid recommendations for nearby spots that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps, which I always appreciate. The common areas have this easygoing vibe where you might actually want to hang out for a bit, maybe grab a coffee or just decompress after a day of exploring. Look, it’s not going to be the most Instagram-worthy stay of your life, but if you’re looking for a place that delivers on comfort and service without the inflated prices of fancier hotels, THE NICE lives up to its name. Sometimes you just want a place that does what it says on the tin, and this spot gets that completely.
