This little gem sits perched up on one of those winding hillside roads that snake through the interior of Phuket, and the views… well, let’s just say you’ll understand why they called it “Hill” the moment you step onto any of the upper floor balconies.

The thing about this place is that it feels authentically Thai without trying too hard, if that makes sense. The lobby has this warm, lived-in quality – think polished concrete floors, local artwork that’s actually good, and staff who remember your name by day two. I mean, the 8.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there for a night or two. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though don’t expect marble bathrooms or those fancy rain showers you see at the five-star resorts down by the beaches. What you do get is air conditioning that actually works (crucial in Phuket’s humidity), decent Wi-Fi, and beds that don’t feel like sleeping on cardboard – which, honestly, is more than I can say about some pricier places I’ve stayed.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location gives you options. You’re far enough from the Patong madness to actually sleep at night, but close enough that a fifteen-minute tuk-tuk ride gets you to all the action when you want it. The hotel sits near some of those local restaurants that tourists never find, including this little family-run place about a five-minute walk down the hill that serves the best massaman curry I’ve had outside of Bangkok. The pool area is nothing fancy, but it’s got character – surrounded by tropical plants and usually pretty quiet during the day. Perfect for recovering from those late Bangla Road adventures, you know? One small thing though – parking can get tight if you’re renting a car, especially during high season. But the front desk guys are pretty good at shuffling things around to make space. Overall, if you’re looking for something genuine without breaking the bank, and you don’t mind being a bit removed from the beach chaos, The Memories Hill delivers exactly what it promises – no more, no less, but with heart.

  Établissement que je recommande, personnel très accueillant, qui se démène pour que votre séjour se passe bien, taxi, alimentation ou autre. C’est un petit hôtel, donc pas de bruit, très calme.
  Vous êtes à environ 15 minutes de l’aéroport, et de même pour le port pour excursions sur les îles de Ko Naka. Nous avions loué un scooter à 10 minutes de l’hôtel, le gérant peut même vous y emmener, agréable séjour ! Merci

  Arredamento nuovo e moderno. Buona insonorizzazione, nessun suono proveniente dai vicini. Abbiamo provato la cucina, un po' cara, ma molto comoda e buona. Possibilità di noleggiare il motorino e servizio taxi da parte del gestore. Molto cordiali.

  Aufgrund der Verspätung des Fluges, kamen wir sehr spät (in der Nacht) erst an. Durch Bookingchat konnten wir problemlos über unsere späte Anreise bescheid geben und wurden dann auch überaus freundlich empfangen! Der Inhaber hat sogar noch Essen für uns zubereiten lassen; Mitternacht! Gastfreundlichkeit wird sehr groß geschrieben.
  Unser kleiner Bungalow ist sehr sauber und bietet alles was man braucht… es riecht super frisch, jede menge Handtücher, ein sehr bequemes Bett u.v.m
  Der Pool ist erfrischend, ebenfalls sauber und reicht zum etwas schwimmen.
  Auf Anfrage bekam ich sogar ein vegetarisches Frühstück, was die Besitzerin mit viel Liebe kreiert hat.
  Nach dem Checkout, durften wir sogar am Pool verweilen und auf unser Motorcycle warten!
  Es ist ein schöner idyllischer Ort.
