The Marin Phuket Kamala Beach Overview
You know what caught me off guard about The Marin Phuket Kamala Beach? It’s actually tucked away from the main Kamala strip in a way that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. I mean, when you’re dealing with Phuket‘s crowds these days, finding a five-star spot that doesn’t feel like a tourist factory is honestly pretty rare.
The location is smart – close enough to Kamala Beach that you can walk there in flip-flops (maybe three minutes if you’re not rushing), but far enough from the main road that you don’t get the constant buzz of scooters and tour buses. I stayed here during shoulder season and found myself sitting by their pool area in the afternoons, watching the hills roll down toward the Andaman Sea. The infinity pool thing isn’t just for Instagram either – it actually makes you feel suspended above the coastline, especially around sunset when the light hits the water just right.
What I really appreciated was how they handle the whole luxury resort experience without making it feel stuffy. The staff remembers your name after day one, but they’re not hovering around making you feel like you can’t relax. The rooms have this modern Thai aesthetic that doesn’t go overboard with the elephant statues and silk scarves – it’s more subtle than that, with natural wood and clean lines that actually help you unwind. Air conditioning works perfectly too, which honestly matters more than people admit when you’re dealing with Phuket’s humidity.
Here’s the thing though – while the property itself is gorgeous, you’re still in Kamala, which means it gets busy during high season. The beach can feel pretty packed between December and March, and you’ll definitely hear some construction noise from the ongoing development around the area. But if you time it right (I’d say April through June or September through November), you get this sweet spot where the weather’s still great but the crowds thin out considerably. The hotel’s restaurant overlooks the pool and serves decent Thai food, though honestly, some of the local spots down by the beach have more character if you’re up for a short walk.
To book hotel in Phuket during the vibrant Songkran festival, visitors should make reservations well in advance as this tropical paradise attracts millions of tourists from around the world seeking pristine beaches and authentic Thai culture.

We loved this hotel, we were upgraded on arrival, 2 bedroom suite was spacious with a large fridge and had cutlery and crockery. Breakfast was good, one morning they had fillet steak which was delicious with a tasty sauce. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast was until 11am and 12 midday on New Year's Day. The rooftop was awesome with the best DJ Ice Smith who played excellent beats and let our kids get involved which they cannot speak about enough. The New Year's party was incredible, so much fun and we could see the Cafe Del Mar Fireworks as well as the brilliant show put on by the hotel. We could swim during the party and the cocktail buckets were awesome. The staff were amazing. The Best New Year's party ever. The pools are divine, with sparkling lights even in the floors of the pool. Lighting is something to behold.
Free transfers to Surin and main Kamala area, but only at certain times.Daniel from France (7/10)
The facilities are in very good condition and good finishing. Good for Eastern European tourists. Outside rather calm, close to the main road ready to explore with a scooter.
