It’s actually tucked away from all the tourist madness that usually comes with being so close to one of Phuket’s most popular beaches. I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Kamala Beach, but somehow this place feels like its own little world.

The first thing you notice is how quiet it gets here, especially in the evenings – which is honestly pretty rare for this part of the island. It’s a three-star property, so don’t expect marble lobbies or infinity pools, but what they do have works really well. The residence-style setup means you get more space than your typical hotel room, which I actually preferred. There’s something about having a proper living area that makes you feel less like you’re just passing through. The kitchenettes are basic but functional – perfect for storing those late-night 7-Eleven runs or keeping your drinks cold without paying hotel minibar prices.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know the area inside and out. They pointed me toward this little local spot up the hill where you can get amazing pad thai for about 80 baht – the kind of recommendation you only get when people actually care about your experience rather than just pushing the expensive tourist restaurants. The location itself is sort of perfect if you want easy beach access but also quick escapes to explore the rest of the island. Patong is close enough for when you want the nightlife chaos, but Kamala has this more laid-back vibe that grows on you. I found myself spending more time just walking the quieter stretches of beach in the morning before the crowds arrived.

Honestly, the 8.0 rating makes complete sense once you spend a few days here. It’s not trying to be something it’s not – just solid accommodations with thoughtful touches that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a week. The pool area gets good afternoon sun without being overwhelming, and there’s enough space that you’re not fighting for chairs even during busier periods. One small thing that stuck with me was how they handled the whole check-in process – no rushing, actually took time to explain the neighborhood and mark up a little map with useful spots. These days, that kind of personal attention feels pretty rare.

  A great little apartment with great facilities. Duncan and his team were great with communication both before and during my stay and were there to help with any issues I had (of which there wasn't any).
  The room is spacious and comfortable with enough amenities for short stays. For longer stays there are plenty of little shops close by to be able to purchase the basics (bread, milk, etc).

  I was allowed to check in early, the manager was waiting for us, handed over the keys, and kindly advised us not to walk to Patong Beach but to take a taxi instead. 😊 He explained that cleaning is done twice a week. We had an apartment on the ground floor with access to the garden and the pool. The pool was clean. There’s a gray cat living on the property, very affectionate.

  Really good location and lovely apartment with a good view over the pool. Close to the beach & restaurants. It suited our needs perfectly & we loved using it as our base to explore parts of Phuket. Good communication with the management company when we didn't know how to operate the safe & in getting us an extra pillow & cases for the bed. We would love to return 🙂

  The accommodation looks like the photos – Lovely spacious pool area with plenty of sun lounges and well kept gardens.
  
  The apparment was spacious, beds comfy and the pool was clean and only 20 steps away from our door.
  
  The agency rep met us at the site, showed us in, and gave us his number to call if we had any problems.
  
  There was a minor issue with one of the AC systems one night during our stay, but we contacted the host agency and they arranged a service tecnician visit the next morning to fix it quickly.
  
  The central location was perfect for us – 5 min walk to beach, lots of local food places in the surrounding streets with more places to find local food in the roads up towards the hills.
  
  Kamala is a good size – it doesn't feel overdeveloped with high rises and traffic jams, but it still has many covenience stores, a Big C supermarket with a general store just next to it, (a bit like a Kamala Bunnings but selling everything from beach toys and hats to electrical adaptors), and a few evening / local markets.
  
  Additionally, the fun craziness of Patong is just a short drive away!
