The Casita Phuket (SHA+) Overview
You know what caught me off guard about The Casita Phuket (SHA+)? It’s actually one of those places where the five-star rating feels earned rather than just slapped on for marketing purposes. I mean, I’ve stayed at plenty of luxury hotels in Phuket that promise the world and deliver something pretty forgettable, but this place has a different energy to it.
The whole vibe feels more like staying at someone’s incredibly well-appointed private villa than a traditional hotel – and honestly, that’s probably intentional given the name “Casita” (little house in Spanish, which is sort of charming in Thailand). The staff here actually remembers your name and your coffee order, which sounds small but makes a huge difference when you’re dealing with that post-flight fog or trying to plan your day around the island’s notorious traffic patterns. Speaking of which, they’re really good about timing restaurant recommendations and tour bookings around rush hours, something you don’t always get even at high-end places.
What really sets it apart though is how they’ve managed to create this bubble of calm without making you feel completely disconnected from the real Phuket. You can still hear the distant hum of motorbikes and catch whiffs of street food from nearby local spots, but it’s all filtered through these lush gardens that seem to absorb the chaos. The pool area becomes this perfect middle ground in the late afternoon – not too crowded, great light for photos if that’s your thing, and the water temperature is just right (they heat it, which isn’t a given everywhere). I spent way more time there than I planned, working on my laptop with a Thai iced coffee, watching the light change through the palm trees. The 7.6 rating might seem modest for a five-star property, but honestly? I think that’s because some guests come in expecting a massive resort experience with tons of activities and entertainment. This is more intimate than that – maybe 30-40 rooms total, so if you’re looking for a bustling lobby scene or organized pool games, you might feel like something’s missing. But if you want a place where you can actually relax and reset, where the biggest decision is whether to order room service or walk five minutes to that incredible little seafood place the concierge recommended, then you’ll probably love it here as much as I did.

Owner/Manager of the place was very accommodating.
Initially booking.com made an error that indicated that a free air shuttle service is provided. After abit of back and forth – the Owner graciously arranged for this to to be handled very professionally by honouring the committment and arranging for an air shuttle when i arrived and when i left. I appreciate that Mam – you are the best!
The room was super spacious – with a balcony extending to a lovely private swimming pool.
Friendly staff – even though they may not have known english very well – they were sweet and accommodating. Simply lovely people.
Phuket in general is a serene and tropical place- this place is perfect if you love being close to the beach or you just need a retreat to clear your mind.Anastasiya from Belarus (8/10)
We booked this hotel as it was reasonable priced and located on the north of Phuket (and our permanent accommodation was located in the very south) and we wanted to watch sunrise on Samet Nangshe Viewpoint. The place is quite nice, easily accessible on car, the staff was also very welcome to see us even though we checked in quite late, after 10PM. Pretty much hotel consists of small houses with small pools, each house consists of two rooms with separate entrances. We asked for a room with two separate beds, but were given a Double, but that's a minor inconvenience. Overall, the stay was nice. We checked out at 5AM, no problems with the staff.
