Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first heard the name The Blue Hotel – SHA Plus, I wasn’t expecting much. The whole SHA Plus thing (that’s the Thai health safety certification, by the way) made it sound kind of clinical, you know? But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way possible. It’s got this relaxed, unpretentious vibe that I wasn’t anticipating from a three-star property. The lobby has these deep blue accents everywhere – obviously playing up the name – but it’s done tastefully, not like some tacky theme park situation.

What really won me over was how the staff actually seemed to care about getting things right. I mean, check-in was smooth, but more than that, they remembered my name the next morning and asked how I slept. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, nothing fancy but everything works properly – which, let’s face it, is sometimes more than you can say for places charging twice as much. The air conditioning is actually quiet (thank god), and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. I’m pretty picky about mattresses, and I slept well here. The bathroom’s compact but functional, with decent water pressure and toiletries that don’t smell like industrial cleaner.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location gives you options without being right in the middle of chaos. You’re close enough to get where you need to go, but you can actually get some peace and quiet when you want it. Parking wasn’t a nightmare either, which anyone who’s driven around busy tourist areas will appreciate. The breakfast is nothing revolutionary, but it’s fresh and there’s enough variety to keep you happy for a few days. I actually found myself looking forward to their coffee – they’ve got this local blend that’s way better than the usual hotel swill. The pool area is small but clean, and it doesn’t get crazy crowded since it’s not a massive resort. Perfect for a quick swim to cool off without fighting for space. Honestly, for the price point, this place delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
