The rooms themselves are clean and functional – not Instagram-worthy or anything, but the bed was comfortable and the shower had decent pressure, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed.

Here’s the thing though – if you’re looking for a pool scene or daily housekeeping, this might not be your spot. It’s more of a base camp situation where you can actually live a bit like a local. The area gets pretty quiet at night, which I loved, but if you want to be in the thick of Patong’s craziness, you’ll need to grab a taxi or rent a scooter. I actually preferred it this way – Surin Beach has this more laid-back vibe during the day, and when I did want the full tourist experience, it was easy enough to get there. The whole setup just works if you’re the type of traveler who values having your own space and doesn’t need someone making your bed every day. Plus, that 8.2 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting way more space and independence than a typical hotel room for probably half the price of the big resorts down the coast.
