The location is pretty much perfect if you actually want to enjoy Kata Beach without dealing with the circus that Patong can be. You’re literally a two-minute walk from some of the softest sand on the island, and I love that you can hear the waves from certain rooms – not loud enough to keep you awake, just that gentle background soundtrack that reminds you where you are. The pool itself is honestly the star of the show here. It’s not huge, but it’s got this nice depth variation that works whether you want to actually swim laps or just float around with a drink. I spent way too many afternoons there, and the water temperature was always spot-on.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to get that balance between being helpful and not hovering. Check-in was smooth – no drama, no upselling, just “here’s your key, pool towels are over there, enjoy your stay.” The rooms are clean and functional, though don’t expect anything fancy. The air conditioning works well (crucial in that heat), and the beds are actually comfortable. I had a room facing the pool area, which was great for people-watching but you might hear some splashing during the day if you’re trying to nap. The Wi-Fi held up fine for staying in touch and posting photos, though I wouldn’t try to run a business from there. Parking was never an issue when I had a scooter, and there are plenty of local spots within walking distance – that little family-run restaurant about 100 meters down the road toward the beach makes incredible pad thai, by the way. During high season it gets busier obviously, but even then it never felt overcrowded or stressful. It’s the kind of place where you can tell the owners actually care about giving people a good experience without breaking the bank, and that shows in all the little details.

  My wife and I stayed at Thalassa Pool Kata Beach hotel for two weeks in a family studio. The room was large and fully equipped to meet our self catering needs. We were accommodated on the ground floor and had direct access to the pool and sun loungers which were used on a daily basis by my wife who loved the experience.

  Cleaning staff were excellent, room was always cleaned very well. Its walking distance from diving centre, bars and restaurants, night market, and beach, but tucked away, so it's not noisy, Also laundry close by is a bonus!

  Everything was good! We were welcomed by a French lady, she was very helpful and friendly. This place is slightly inside but it's very quiet with a nice pool view! Very clean, about 5-10 minutes walking distance to Kata Night Market. Strategic location. They didn't charge us on any room deposit while checking in. That's one of the best! Highly recommended!

  hair dryer & microwave provided. near to bike rental shop just 1 min walk from the hotel. 5 min walk to the pharmacy & bar. very quiet, we had a really good sleep. my room full of sand after we got back from the beach but the next morning, they clean our room & change our towel every day. best service from the owner, we love you mama 🩵
