The staff here really gets it too – they’re not pushy with tours and excursions, but they’ll absolutely point you toward the good local spots if you ask. There’s this little seafood place about a five-minute walk north along the beach that honestly serves some of the best tom yum I’ve had in Thailand, and I never would’ve found it without their recommendation.

What really sold me on this place though was how real it felt. The rooms aren’t fancy – we’re talking standard Thai hotel vibes with clean linens, working AC (thank god), and bathrooms that do the job without any frills. But there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The pool area is small but perfectly adequate for cooling off after a day in the sun, and honestly, you’re going to be spending most of your time at the actual beach anyway. The breakfast is pretty typical – some Thai dishes, toast, fruit, coffee that’ll wake you up – nothing groundbreaking but it gets you fed and out the door. I actually appreciated that checkout was super straightforward too; no hidden fees or weird charges that sometimes pop up at these beachfront places. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy luxury, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a solid base for exploring Kamala and the surrounding area without breaking the bank, Thai Kamala Beach Front delivers exactly what it promises – a comfortable place to sleep that’s ridiculously close to one of Phuket’s nicer beaches.

  Great beach front location. Close to everything including 7-11, money exchange, restaurants, souveniors, fruit smoothies and the most beautiful beach! Clean, comfortable rooms and beds. Nice large balcony to people watch. New beachfront bar right out front/below was opening up. No loud noises, very quiet and they played calming music.
