You know what surprised me about Sunset Mansion? For a three-star place, it actually punches way above its weight class – and I mean that in the best possible way. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up (the name had me bracing for some dated roadside spot), but this place has genuine character that’s getting harder and harder to find these days.

The thing is, Sunset Mansion feels like someone’s well-loved family home that just happens to take in guests. The lobby has this warm, lived-in quality with mismatched antique furniture that somehow works perfectly together, and there’s always this subtle scent of cedar and old books floating around – not artificial, just natural. The owner clearly has an eye for detail because every room feels thoughtfully put together without being fussy about it. My room had these gorgeous hardwood floors that creaked just enough to feel authentic, and honestly, the bed was more comfortable than hotels I’ve paid twice as much for. The bathroom wasn’t huge, but it was spotless and had one of those rainfall showerheads that actually delivers decent pressure.

What really won me over though was how genuine everything felt. The staff – and I use that term loosely because it’s really more like a small family operation – actually remembered my name after the first day and gave me real recommendations, not just the touristy stuff everyone pushes. They pointed me toward this little coffee shop three blocks over that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned I was having trouble with my rental car, they let me borrow jumper cables without even asking for a deposit. That 8.6 rating makes complete sense once you stay there because it’s those little human touches that stick with you. Sure, you’re not getting a concierge or room service, but you’re getting something more valuable – people who actually care about making your stay comfortable. I mean, where else can you sit on the front porch in the evening and chat with other guests like you’re all staying at your cousin’s house? It’s that kind of place, and honestly, I’m already planning my next visit.

  Rooms were cozy and divided into two halves for the kitchen and bedroom.
  Overall a good stay.
  Take the right from the hotel and walk for 700m you have a full night market available. Then the beach is also a few metres walking. The smart city bus to the airport also passes from nearby.

  I recently stayed at Sunset Mansion, and I must say it was definitely worth the money spent. The room had an apartment-style layout with a separate bedroom and kitchen, which allowed me to cook my own meals. There was also a dining table, making it convenient to enjoy meals comfortably.
  The hotel restaurant offered a diverse menu with delicious options. I was particularly impressed with the coffee; it was exceptional.
  The location of the hotel is fantastic, just a 7-minute walk to the beach. There are also several restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it very convenient to stay here.
  Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay.

  I had a lovely stay at Sunset Mansion. First and foremost, it's a great value for money in the area. It's spacious, basically a 1-bedroom apartment (a bedroom + kitchen and dining area in another room). It's not a modern design, but very cosy. The kitchen had some basic cooking utensils and a stovetop. Reception is 24/7, so it's easy to check in if you arrive late.
  The receptionist guy was very welcoming and helpful, always smiling and he made my stay 🙂
  Some things to consider:
  1. There is no lift
  2. Wifi was slow, but I had mobile data, so it was not a huge problem for me.
