You know what caught me off guard about Sonya Residence? The lobby actually feels more like someone’s well-appointed living room than a typical hotel entrance. I mean, this three-star place doesn’t try to be something it’s not – there’s no marble everywhere or over-the-top chandeliers – but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the whole setup. The front desk staff remembered my name after the first day, which honestly doesn’t happen much anymore, even at pricier places.

The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully simple. Nothing fancy, but everything works the way it should, and the beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses, so that matters). The bathrooms are compact but well-designed – someone clearly thought about how real people use the space. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details: decent lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, and windows that actually open if you want fresh air instead of constant AC. The housekeeping is solid too – not obsessively perfect, but clean and consistent. I stayed for five nights and never had any issues with towels or basic supplies running out.

Here’s the thing though – this isn’t a place where you’re going to find a concierge who knows every restaurant in town or same-day laundry service. But for what it is, Sonya Residence delivers pretty well. The WiFi actually works throughout the building (tested it in the hallways because I’m that person), and there’s usually street parking available if you’re driving, though you might need to walk a block or two during busier times. The neighborhood gets quiet after about 10 PM, so if you’re a light sleeper, you’ll probably be fine. I’d honestly stay here again – sometimes you just want a clean, comfortable room without paying for amenities you won’t use anyway. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it won’t disappoint either, and there’s something to be said for that kind of reliability.

  keine 100 m zum Strand, in einer kleinen Seitenstraße. Mein Zimmer war, im Gegensatz zu ähnlichen Unterkünften riesig, mit Mikrowelle, Balkon, Wasserkocher, Kaffee und Wasser täglich kostenfrei. Sehr nette Betreiber.
