What really works here is the location without the location penalty, if that makes sense. You’re close enough to Bangla Road that you can stumble back after a night out (and trust me, you’ll want that option), but far enough from the main strip that you’re not dealing with the constant noise of tuk-tuks and street vendors until 4 AM. The staff actually knows the area too – they’ll tell you which beach chair vendors to avoid and where to get decent pad thai that won’t destroy your stomach. I picked up more useful local tips in my first day here than I did from most travel blogs. The common areas get busy in the evenings, which is great if you’re traveling solo and want to meet people, but there are also quieter corners if you just want to plan your next day without someone trying to convince you to join their full moon party expedition. One thing though – the Wi-Fi can be spotty during peak hours, so maybe don’t plan any important video calls around dinner time.
