Sense of Yanui Overview
You know what hit me first about Sense of Yanui? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – it really does capture this laid-back, almost zen-like vibe that’s hard to find at bigger resorts. This three-star place sits right near Yanui Beach, and I mean *right* near it – you can literally hear the waves from most rooms, which honestly became my favorite white noise machine.
The property itself is smaller than what you’d expect from those massive Phuket complexes, but that’s exactly why it works. There’s maybe 30-40 rooms total, so you’re not fighting crowds for pool chairs or waiting forever at reception. Speaking of the pool – it’s this lovely infinity setup that looks out toward the Andaman Sea, and around sunset (which happens ridiculously early, like 6:30pm), you get these incredible orange and pink reflections dancing on the water. I spent way too many evenings just sitting there with a Chang beer, watching longtail boats drift by in the distance. The staff genuinely remembers your name after a day or two, which feels refreshing when you’re used to being just another room number elsewhere.
What really sold me on this place, though, was the location knowledge they shared. The front desk guy – I think his name was Niran – told us about this tiny local spot for som tam that’s literally a five-minute walk up the hill, tucked between a motorcycle repair shop and someone’s house. No tourists, just incredible papaya salad for like 60 baht. You’d never find it without a local tip. The beach itself is this perfect little crescent that stays relatively quiet even during high season, partly because it’s just far enough from the main Rawai action to keep the day-trip crowds away. Morning walks along the shore became my daily ritual – the sand’s got this fine, almost powdery texture, and low tide reveals all these interesting rock pools.
Now, I’ll be honest – if you’re expecting fancy amenities or room service until midnight, this isn’t that kind of place. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with decent air con and surprisingly good water pressure, but the TV only gets basic channels and the WiFi can be spotty during heavy rain. The restaurant serves solid Thai basics and a few Western dishes, though I’d recommend venturing out for dinner most nights since Rawai’s got some fantastic seafood places within easy reach. Parking‘s never an issue if you rent a scooter, and there’s even a small spa tucked into the garden area that does excellent traditional Thai massages for reasonable prices. What struck me most was how this place manages to feel both relaxing and connected to the real Phuket – not some sanitized resort bubble, but an actual slice of island life that happens to have really comfortable beds and a killer view.

I loved it all. You will however need transport if you want to see more of this area. I never drove with a scooter before but if you stay away from main traffic areas its not a problem. I now did it. The three beaches (Yanui, Nai Harn and Rawai)are close enough to see them all. The accommodation is clean and veeeeery quite which is always the greatest concern for me. The matras could not have been better. Thank you for a great stay

The room was spacious and well decorated- the bed was comfy, the bathroom was very clean. Incredibly good value for money – right by the beach too. It’s not far to walk to Rawai from the hotel.

A very calm and quiet place near Promthep Cape, Windmill viewpoint and Yanui Beach. We walked everywhere all within 15 minutes walk. The staff was helpful. AC worked perfect.

Very quiet and spacious well laid out accommodation close to lovely Ya Nui beach. It has everything you would need including kettle and fridge. Set in nice green space. Beach bars also close. Staff were friendly and helped with taxis and things.
