What really got me was the view from the balcony – I spent way too many evenings out there with a beer, watching the sun dip behind those dramatic limestone cliffs that frame the bay. The two bedrooms are actually spacious (not those cramped hotel boxes), and the kitchen is properly equipped, which saved me a fortune since eating out every meal in Phuket can really add up. The living area opens right onto that balcony, so there’s this nice flow when you’ve got the sliding doors open and the sea breeze rolling through. One thing I appreciated – the air conditioning actually works efficiently, and trust me, you’ll need it during the hot season.

Now, Kamala Beach itself is sort of the sweet spot between the chaos of Patong and the sleepy vibe of some of the northern beaches. You’ve got enough restaurants and bars within walking distance that you won’t get bored, but it’s not completely overrun with tourists stumbling around at 3 AM. The local night market sets up just down the road on certain evenings – honestly some of the best pad thai I had during my entire Thailand trip came from this little cart run by an elderly woman who barely spoke English but somehow knew exactly how spicy to make it. There’s also this little convenience store about two minutes from the apartment that becomes your best friend for those late-night snack runs and morning coffee emergencies. The only minor downside I noticed was that the wifi could be a bit spotty during peak hours, but that might actually be a blessing if you’re trying to disconnect from work emails. Overall, it’s one of those places where you actually feel like you’re living somewhere rather than just passing through – which, let’s face it, makes all the difference when you’re trying to soak up the real Phuket experience.
