Saturdays Residence by Brown Starling Overview
You know what surprised me most about Saturdays Residence by Brown Starling? It actually lives up to its name – there’s this laid-back weekend vibe that somehow exists even on a Tuesday morning. I mean, when you walk into the lobby, it doesn’t hit you with that sterile hotel smell or aggressive marble everywhere. Instead, it feels more like stepping into a really well-designed friend’s apartment, if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and a serious budget.
The whole place has this four-star polish without being stuffy about it. Honestly, I’ve stayed at places that cost twice as much and felt half as welcoming. The rooms are what really won me over though – they’ve got these huge windows that actually open (remember when that was a thing?), and the beds are positioned so you’re not staring directly at a wall when you wake up. Small detail, but it matters. The bathrooms are generous too, with rainfall showers that have proper water pressure – none of that dribbling nonsense you sometimes get. I also noticed they stock decent toiletries, not the watered-down stuff that smells like generic “fresh.”
What sets this place apart is the attention to things most hotels completely overlook. Like, the walls are actually soundproofed properly – I never heard my neighbors, which is basically a miracle in most city hotels these days. The Wi-Fi works everywhere, including the elevator (tested it, obviously). And here’s something I really appreciated: the staff remembers your name after the first day, but they’re not overly chatty about it. Just the right amount of recognition without making you feel like you’re trapped in conversation every time you walk through the lobby. Check-in was smooth too – they had my room ready early without me even asking, and the woman at the front desk gave me actually useful recommendations for dinner, not just the tourist traps. The whole experience felt effortless in a way that obviously took a lot of effort behind the scenes to pull off. It’s the kind of place where everything just works, and you don’t realize how rare that is until you’re somewhere else dealing with broken key cards and lukewarm coffee.
To book a hotel in Phuket during peak season from December to March, travelers need early planning as this stunning island draws visitors eager to experience its crystal-clear waters and world-famous sunset views.

Karmalina from Australia (9/10)
My husband joined a fight camp for a week and we booked the 2 bedroom unit for a family of 4. It was such good value. Next time we will come we will rent a car so it’s easier to get around. It’s a little bit far to walk which we knew so download the grab app for food and transport. The unit has a full fridge and washing machine and the aircon works perfectly. The staff are all so welcoming. We also loved our rooms, which was on the lower floor open up to the pool.
