Saturdays Residence by Brown Starling Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled into Saturdays Residence by Brown Starling, honestly, the name made perfect sense — this place has that relaxed weekend vibe you’d want every day of your vacation. Tucked away on a quiet soi off the Saiyuan-Kata Road in Rawai, it’s one of those four-star finds that feels more intimate than the massive resorts dominating other parts of Phuket. The free parking right on-site was actually a relief, since finding a spot around here can be tricky during high season.
The Rawai Advantage
You know what I love about staying in Rawai? It’s got this authentic local feel that Patong completely lacks, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The beach is literally a five-minute walk, and while it’s not the postcard-perfect swimming beach (the longtail boats kind of take over), it’s perfect for sunset drinks and watching the local fishermen do their thing. Kata Beach — now that’s where you want to swim — is just a quick ride away, maybe ten minutes if traffic’s cooperating.
Room Experience
The room I stayed in was spacious enough that my partner and I weren’t constantly bumping into each other, which honestly matters more than you’d think on a longer trip. I mean, the design isn’t going to win any awards, but everything works properly — the AC actually cools the space, the shower has decent pressure, and there’s enough storage for a week’s worth of clothes. The couples who frequent this place (and there are quite a few, based on what I observed) seem to appreciate the quiet atmosphere and the fact that you can actually sleep in without construction noise or pool parties starting at 8 AM.
Breakfast & Practical Perks
Breakfast here surprised me in the best way — they’ve got this mix of continental, Asian, and American options that actually tastes fresh, not like it’s been sitting under heat lamps since dawn. The vegan choices were better than expected too, which is rare for this part of Thailand. What really sold me though was the breakfast-to-go option; some mornings you just want to grab something and head straight to the beach or catch an early boat to the islands. It’s those little practical touches that show they understand how people actually travel.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the fanciest place you’ll find in Phuket, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that matters for a real vacation. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, the location gives you that local Rawai experience without sacrificing access to the tourist spots, and the whole vibe is just… relaxed. Couples especially seem drawn to the quieter energy here — it’s romantic without being overly staged, if that makes sense. After staying at some of the bigger, flashier places around the island, there’s something refreshing about a hotel that focuses on comfort over Instagram moments.
To book a hotel in Phuket during peak season from December to March, travelers need early planning as this stunning island draws visitors eager to experience its crystal-clear waters and world-famous sunset views.

Karmalina from Australia (9/10)
My husband joined a fight camp for a week and we booked the 2 bedroom unit for a family of 4. It was such good value. Next time we will come we will rent a car so it’s easier to get around. It’s a little bit far to walk which we knew so download the grab app for food and transport. The unit has a full fridge and washing machine and the aircon works perfectly. The staff are all so welcoming. We also loved our rooms, which was on the lower floor open up to the pool.
