I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Riviera Patong, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place in the heart of all that Patong Beach chaos. But you know what? Sometimes the smaller spots really get it right, and this place absolutely nails what travelers actually want.

The location is honestly perfect if you’re someone who wants to be right in the thick of things without paying those insane beachfront prices. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the sand, which means you can actually hear the waves if you get a room facing the right direction, but you’re far enough back that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of jet ski touts and massage ladies. I mean, don’t get me wrong – you’ll still encounter plenty of both, but there’s something to be said for being able to retreat to a quieter side street when you need a breather. The whole Bangla Road scene is right there too, which is either a massive plus or something you’ll want to mentally prepare for, depending on your vibe.

What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to actually care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth – no weird hidden fees or pushy upselling – and when I had questions about getting to the weekend market or finding decent pad thai that wasn’t tourist-markup expensive, they gave me directions to places locals actually go. The rooms are clean and functional without trying to be fancy, which honestly works better than some places that overpromise and underdeliver. The air conditioning actually works (crucial in that humidity), the wifi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and the shower has proper water pressure. These might sound like basic things, but you’d be surprised how many places mess up the fundamentals. The pool area is small but gets good afternoon sun, and there’s usually space to actually use it since most people are off exploring or planted on the beach.

I stayed here during shoulder season in October, which meant it wasn’t completely packed but the weather was still solid most days. The breakfast is pretty standard Thai hotel fare – nothing that’ll blow your mind, but decent coffee and fresh fruit, plus they don’t rush you out if you want to sit and plan your day. One thing worth noting is that while the street noise isn’t terrible, Patong never really sleeps completely, so if you’re a super light sleeper, pack earplugs or request a room away from the main road. Overall though, for the price point and that 9.0 rating making perfect sense once you’re there, it’s exactly the kind of place that lets you spend your money on experiences instead of just a place to crash – which is really what a good Phuket trip should be about anyway.

  This is superb place to stay if you are in Patong area – from the start to the end the owner provided us with great hospitality,the room was big and clean, with the balcony with the view of the city, we loved the location- very close walking distance from the main streets for markets and restaurants, but still far from the noice and rush,which is here long in nights, so you have a quiet place to rest. Highly recommended, we were so happy to choose Riviera Patong hotel! Thank you!
