First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Raya Beachloft, honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside — it’s tucked away on Viset Road in a quieter part of Rawai. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to show off. The parking situation alone won me over immediately — free and private, right on site, which is actually pretty rare for beachfront properties in Phuket. The staff greeted me like I was an old friend, and I could already hear the ocean just beyond the building.

I mean, let’s talk about Rawai Beach for a second — it’s not your typical tourist circus like Patong or Kata. This is where locals actually hang out, where you’ll find the best seafood vendors setting up their grills right on the sand in the evenings. The hotel sits perfectly positioned so you’re literally a two-minute walk to the beach, but far enough back that you don’t get the constant noise. Couples seem to absolutely love this spot (and I can see why), probably because it feels more intimate and authentic than the busier beach areas.

The Room Experience

My room was what I’d call understated elegance — clean lines, plenty of space, and that crucial air conditioning that actually works properly. The balcony became my morning coffee spot, with partial sea views that honestly made me want to extend my stay. What impressed me most was the attention to detail — good water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes. For a four-star property, they’ve really nailed the basics while adding those little touches that matter.

Dining and Amenities

The on-site restaurant serves up solid Thai cuisine with a few international options thrown in — nothing groundbreaking, but definitely satisfying after a day exploring the island. I actually preferred walking down to the local seafood spots on the beach for dinner, which the hotel staff happily recommended. The pool area is compact but well-maintained, perfect for a quick dip when the beach gets too crowded. There’s also a small fitness area, though honestly, with all the walking and swimming opportunities around here, I barely used it.

Here’s the thing about Raya Beachloft — it’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel on the island, and that’s exactly why it works so well. You’re getting genuine value in a location that feels authentically Thai, without the tourist markup you’ll find closer to the main beach strips. The fact that recent guests rated the location so highly tells you everything you need to know — this is one of those places where you can actually experience Phuket rather than just visit it. Plus, having your own car sorted with that free parking means you can easily explore the southern tip of the island, hit up the weekend markets, or take day trips without the hassle of finding a spot when you get back.

  The host was amazing. She helped us to book the last minute a trip to Similan island. She even sent us the massagist to our stay. The villa house is spacious and beautiful. The maid comes to every day to clean the house.

  THe property was beautiful – right on the ocean just like the photos , the manager Jenny was very helpful, and responded immediately to every question we had. The daily housekeeping service was excellent. We had access to the Selena Serenity hotel facilities. We loved the Bee Gold massages up the street – best massages for $30 cdn. As well as a local bakery that offered great breakfasts and lunches.

  The view is stunning and fascinating, particularly watching a sunrise from the house is something that you will never forget.
  The location is not bad if you rent a car. In Phuket, everywhere is far from everywhere though.
  The host was so helpful and nice and did her best for us.

  the villa is really breathtaking, needs some repair (one window is broken and impossible to close, even technician could not fix it). The pool is great and decked terrace with sun beds. Villa is a private property but located in the resort so you can use main hotel’s pool, gym, restaurant and bar, which is really great.

  Dream place to stay during a vacation! It is a perfect place to stay away a bit from the center although you still have good access to beaches, the old town, and even islands such as coral island.
