The thing about Rassada is that you’re positioned perfectly for actually experiencing how locals live – there’s this fantastic morning market about a ten-minute walk away where vendors are setting up by 6 AM, and the coffee there costs maybe 30 baht instead of the tourist-trap prices you’ll find near the pier. Speaking of the pier, that’s honestly the hotel’s secret weapon. You’re ridiculously close to the main departure point for all the island hopping tours, which means you can literally roll out of bed at 7 AM and catch the first boat to Phi Phi without dealing with the usual mad rush from Patong or Kata. The staff here actually knows the boat schedules by heart – not just the touristy ones, but the local ferries that save you serious money.

What really won me over was how the rooms handle the tropical climate. The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and they’ve got these blackout curtains that actually work when you need to recover from those late nights exploring the weekend market. The shower pressure is solid, and – this might sound weird but trust me on this – the towels don’t have that damp, musty smell that haunts so many places here during rainy season. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to navigate those narrow Phuket Town streets with a rental car. The hotel sits just far enough from the main road that traffic noise doesn’t really penetrate, but close enough that grabbing a tuk-tuk or motorbike taxi takes maybe two minutes. I actually found myself preferring this spot over the beachfront madness – sometimes you want to experience Thailand without fighting through crowds of people taking selfies, you know?

  Great customer service from the staff, especially Lin! Everyone was very helpful from the front desk, housekeeping, and wait staff in the cafe and at breakfast. Great selections of food for breakfast everyday. If your stay is long enough the entrees will repeat. I appreciated being able to experience some Thai entrees that I haven't tasted before. Breakfast cost 150BHT ($4 U.S) if you didn't select the with breakfast option when booking. The location is walking distance to a 7/11, the Super Cheap Market (you can find almost anything you need or forgot), ATM, KFC, a lot of food street vendors, and an easy location for Bolt or Grab to take you to Phuket Old Town (located about 15 minutes south). Two coin washers and one dryer is located in the hotel parking lot for your personal use. I am a female solo traveler and felt safe the entire time. I would recommend.
