The beach out front isn’t huge, but it’s got that soft white sand and clear water that makes you want to just plant yourself there for hours. During my stay in March, the water was perfectly calm – though I’ve heard it can get a bit rougher during the monsoon months. There’s a decent amount of shade from the casuarina trees, which honestly saved me from turning into a lobster on day one.

The pool area is where this place really shines, actually. It’s this multi-level infinity setup that follows the natural slope of the hill, and there are these quiet corners where you can actually hear yourself think. I spent a good chunk of my mornings there with coffee, watching the longtail boats head out for the day. The resort does get busier in the evenings – there’s a decent restaurant scene, and they often have live music that carries across the property. Not loud enough to be annoying, but you’ll definitely know something’s happening.

One thing that surprised me was how well they’ve maintained the local character despite being a big international chain. The architecture feels appropriate to the setting, and they’ve kept a lot of the existing vegetation rather than bulldozing everything for a generic tropical theme. Sure, it’s definitely a resort experience rather than some boutique hideaway, but it strikes that balance between comfort and authenticity better than most places in this price range. If you’re planning to visit, I’d honestly recommend booking directly with them – I got a room upgrade and late checkout just for asking nicely at the front desk, and the staff mentioned they have more flexibility with direct bookings.
