Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name PRIME TOWN – Posh & Port Hotel PHUKET, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It sounds a bit fancy and maybe even pretentious, but you know what? Sometimes a place actually lives up to its ambitious name. This four-star spot really surprised me in the best way possible.

The thing about staying here is that you get this interesting mix of upscale comfort without the stuffiness that usually comes with it. I mean, yes, it’s definitely going for that “posh” vibe they promise in the name, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about how they pull it off. The lobby has this clean, modern design that doesn’t try too hard – think sleek lines and warm lighting rather than gold everything and marble statues. When I checked in around 3 PM on a Tuesday, the staff were genuinely friendly (not just professionally polite), and honestly, that sets the tone for everything else. The rooms are well-appointed without being overwhelming – good quality linens, decent bathroom amenities, and actually functional air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a jet engine starting up every ten minutes.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how it sits in Phuket. You’re not stuck in some isolated resort bubble, but you’re also not dealing with the chaos of the main tourist strips. I could walk to some decent local spots for dinner – there’s this little seafood place about five minutes away that definitely doesn’t cater to tourists but serves incredible tom yum – and getting to the beaches isn’t a production either. The hotel runs a shuttle service that’s actually reliable (I know, shocking), or you can grab a tuk-tuk easily enough. Parking was never an issue when I rented a scooter for a day, which is more than I can say for a lot of places around here. The pool area gets busy around mid-morning when families start showing up, but if you’re an early riser like me, you can have it pretty much to yourself with your coffee. One small thing that annoyed me – and I’m probably being picky here – is that the WiFi gets spotty in the evenings when everyone’s back from the beach and streaming Netflix, but honestly, maybe that’s not the worst thing when you’re supposed to be on vacation anyway. Overall, it’s the kind of place where you feel like you made a smart choice rather than just an expensive one.

  Most of the staff were really friendly <3 The location is really good, its right next to a giant mall and one of the long distance bus operators. The giant mall has a really good money trader and a number of food courts with nice options, you can walk to one of the nearby night markets. You will still have to cab into old town every day though. The gym seemed adequate, same with the pool and the sauna. There are extra toilets on ground and floor 2. Even though we were underneath the sign, there wasn't any additional light pollution. I thought the 2L of water a day was reasonably generous

  We stayed here because we needed to take the bus from Phuket to Koh Pangan. Highly recommend to stay here the day before and do some shopping. Convenient location, walking distance to the shopping mall.

  The bed was quite comfortable. They have vending machines for a late night snack. They have a decent gym facility and washing machines on level 2. Good view of mountains from my room. Simple but great value for money. Most staff were very friendly. Fresh water provided daily.
