There’s this relaxed vibe that starts the moment you walk into the lobby, which has this sort of modern tropical thing going on without being too fancy or intimidating.

The rooms themselves are actually quite thoughtful – nothing revolutionary, but everything works the way it should, which honestly is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. The beds are properly comfortable (I’m picky about this), the AC doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, and there’s enough space to actually unpack without playing Tetris with your suitcase. But here’s what I really appreciated: the little touches that show someone was thinking about what travelers actually need. Like, there are plenty of outlets in useful places, the shower pressure is solid, and the balcony – well, most rooms have one – gives you just enough of a view to remind you you’re somewhere tropical. The pool area becomes this little oasis in the afternoon when the sun hits it just right, and I found myself hanging out there way more than I expected, usually with a Chang beer from the little bar they’ve got set up.

What makes this place work, though, is the location situation. You’re about a ten-minute walk from Rawai Beach, which isn’t really a swimming beach but it’s perfect for watching the longtail boats come and go, especially around sunset. The real gems are the seafood places right along the water – some of the best tom yum I had on the whole trip was at this little spot the hotel recommended. And if you want the proper beach experience, Nai Harn is maybe fifteen minutes by motorbike taxi, which the front desk can arrange without any fuss. The whole area feels more authentic somehow, like you’re seeing how people actually live here rather than just the postcard version. I ended up extending my stay by two nights, partly because I was genuinely comfortable but mostly because I realized I was in no rush to get back to the tourist madness elsewhere on the island.

  The room had a terrible view from balcony,and the tv was broken,
  we went straight to reception,
  Lady we spoke too was so lovely,
  she tried her hardest to relocate us but we’re full as it was Chinese new year,
  They had a new tv in our room with in 20mins.
  inside room was lovely although in need of a makeover as very old and tired,
  One of the good things about this hotel was the free laundry facilities,all you need to do is buy laundry detergent,
  It was very relaxing around the pool lovely gardens,
