I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Phuket La Siesta Pool Villas & Pool Access Rooms, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like another sprawling resort complex. But you know what? This place completely changed my mind about Phuket accommodation, and I mean that in the best way possible.

What struck me right away was how they’ve actually managed to create privacy in a place that could easily feel like a crowded resort. The pool villas are tucked away in this sort of garden maze – honestly, it took me two days to figure out the most direct route back to my villa without getting turned around. Each villa has its own private pool, which sounds fancy but is actually just really practical when you want to float around at 7 AM with your coffee without dealing with other guests. The pools aren’t huge (maybe 15 feet long?) but they’re deep enough for a proper swim, and the water stays surprisingly clean. I noticed they come around to skim and check the chemical levels pretty much daily, which you don’t always see at places like this.

The rooms themselves feel more like actual living spaces than hotel rooms – there’s this open-plan thing going on where the bathroom flows into the bedroom, and honestly, the shower situation is fantastic. It’s one of those rainfall setups that actually has decent pressure, plus there’s a separate handheld thing for when you need to get practical about washing your hair. What I really appreciated was the little kitchenette area; nothing fancy, but you’ve got a proper fridge and enough counter space to deal with the fruit you’ll inevitably buy at the local markets. Speaking of which, there’s a 7-Eleven about a five-minute walk down the main road, and a really good som tam cart that sets up most evenings near the intersection – the lady there makes it properly spicy if you ask nicely in Thai.

The pool access rooms are interesting too, actually. Instead of your own private pool, you get direct access to this larger lagoon-style pool that winds between maybe six or eight rooms. It’s quieter than you’d think, and I loved being able to just slip into the water directly from my patio. The five-star rating feels accurate here – everything works the way it should, the linens are actually nice (not just white), and they’ve got this attention to detail thing down. Like, the air conditioning is whisper-quiet, and someone clearly thought about lighting because you’re not stuck with those harsh overhead fluorescents that make you look like you’re in a police interrogation.

The staff really knows their stuff too. When I mentioned I was looking for a good massage place that wasn’t touristy, the front desk guy wrote down directions to this local spot about ten minutes away where I got the best Thai massage of my trip for like 300 baht. That’s the kind of local knowledge that makes a difference. Check-in was smooth, parking is free and actually plentiful, and the whole place has this relaxed vibe that makes you want to slow down and just enjoy being somewhere tropical for a while.

  As a villa resort it's very cute, especially as a group booking an entire 4 villa unit with your own pool.

  Location is the key here. Located in the Rawai, where you have a plenty on things to do! Beach, clubs etc.
