You know what? When I first pulled up to Phuket Airport Place – SHA Plus, I wasn’t expecting much – honestly, the name pretty much screams “airport hotel,” right? But this little three-star spot actually surprised me in some good ways. It’s literally about ten minutes from the airport, which sounds like it would be a nightmare with plane noise, but the rooms facing away from the runway are surprisingly quiet. I mean, you’ll still hear the occasional jet, but it’s not the constant roar you’d expect.

The whole SHA Plus certification thing is legit here – they actually follow through on the health protocols, which was reassuring when I stayed during the busy season. The lobby’s got this sort of modern-meets-tropical vibe going on, nothing fancy but clean and welcoming. What I really appreciated was how the staff handled check-in; even when my flight got delayed and I rolled in at midnight, they were ready for me. The front desk guy (wish I remembered his name) even gave me solid advice about getting to Patong the next morning without getting ripped off by taxi drivers – apparently there’s a local bus that runs every hour for like 30 baht instead of the 500 baht taxi fare.

Here’s the thing about the rooms – they’re definitely budget-friendly but not depressing. Mine had this weird layout where the bathroom was bigger than you’d expect, and the shower actually had decent water pressure. The AC worked great, which in Phuket humidity is basically non-negotiable. I’ll be honest though, the walls are a bit thin, so if you get stuck next to a family with kids, you’ll know about it. The WiFi was solid enough for video calls, and there’s actually a decent pool area that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. Most guests seem to be either catching early flights or just arriving, so it never felt crowded. The breakfast buffet is pretty standard Thai hotel fare – nothing that’ll blow your mind, but the fresh fruit was good and the coffee was strong enough to wake me up for my 6 AM departure. If you’re looking for a place to crash near the airport without breaking the bank or sacrificing basic comfort, this place does the job well.

  For an overnight stay near the airport it's good – it's walkable on foot to the domestic terminal. The aircon worked, the beds were comfortable enough and the pool was a nice bonus to cool off in a very sticky Phuket.

  12mins walk from Phuket International Airport. 3mins walk to 7-eleven. Room clean. Air conditioner cold fast. Water pressure very good. Bed hard suitable for me. Value for money for a short stay for transfer.

  It was an effortless check-in. The room was clean and good enough for a night before we caught an early morning flight. There was a pool. There's air conditioning. There is a 7 eleven close by, you can walk. There is a beach close but you need a taxi .
