The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you figure out your day, which honestly surprised me – I’ve stayed at fancier places where they couldn’t be bothered to look up from their phones.

Here’s the thing that sold me on this place: it feels real. You’ll see actual Thai families staying here alongside backpackers and middle-aged couples, not just the usual tourist crowd. The little restaurant downstairs serves decent pad thai (nothing spectacular, but solid), and there’s this tiny convenience store next door where the owner remembers your face after two days. The pool area is small but clean, and it’s perfect for cooling off in the afternoon heat without fighting for a chair. Sure, the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, and the elevator makes these concerning noises, but the location puts you within walking distance of some great local food stalls that most tourists never find. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra night because, honestly, it just felt comfortable in a way that those flashier resort places never do.
