What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually care about getting things right – and I’m someone who notices when people are just going through the motions. The pool area becomes this little oasis during the day, especially if you snag one of those spots under the palm trees before the afternoon sun gets too intense. The rooms are solid too, nothing fancy but everything works (which honestly isn’t always a given in this price range). I particularly appreciated that the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, and the shower has decent pressure – those little things that matter when you’re trying to rinse off beach sand for the third time in a day. The location’s pretty smart actually; you’re a quick tuk-tuk ride from Patong Beach but far enough up from the main tourist madness that you can actually sleep at night.

Here’s the thing that sealed it for me though – the breakfast spread is way better than it has any right to be for a place like this. I’m talking fresh tropical fruit that’s actually ripe, decent coffee (not that instant stuff), and they do this Thai-style omelet that I ended up getting every morning. Plus, if you’re planning to explore beyond Patong – and you should, because places like Kata and Karon are gorgeous – the hotel’s location makes it easy to grab a songthaew or motorcycle taxi without fighting through all the Bangla Road foot traffic. The whole SHA Extra Plus certification thing might sound like marketing speak, but you can tell they take the health protocols seriously without making it feel like you’re staying in a hospital. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind, but sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really well while you’re busy exploring everything Phuket has to offer.
