Honestly, when I first pulled up to Patong Hill Estate 6, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the name doesn’t exactly scream luxury, you know? But this four-star property tucked away on the hillside above Patong turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the tour groups haven’t found yet.
The thing about staying up on the hill is that you’re removed from the chaos of Bangla Road and the beach crowds, but not so far that you feel disconnected. I mean, it’s maybe a ten-minute ride down to the main strip, but the difference in atmosphere is dramatic – suddenly you can actually hear yourself think, and the air feels cleaner too. The property itself has this sort of understated elegance that grows on you. The rooms are spacious (way more room than most Patong hotels give you), and I actually loved how they’ve designed the place to take advantage of those hillside views. You wake up looking out over the Andaman Sea, which honestly never gets old, even after a week.
What really sold me on this place was the pool area – it’s got this infinity edge thing going on that makes you feel like you’re swimming right into the sunset. The staff here genuinely seems to care about getting the details right, which you don’t always find at this price point. They remembered my coffee order by day three, and when I mentioned I was trying to find a good local massage place, the front desk guy drew me an actual map to his aunt’s shop down in town (and she was incredible, by the way). The 7.0 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest resort on the island, but everything works the way it should. The WiFi is solid, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, and the shower pressure is actually decent, which trust me, matters more than you think when you’re dealing with sand and sunscreen every day. If you’re looking for something that feels more like a peaceful retreat than a party hotel but still keeps you connected to all the Patong action, this place hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Great hosts. Great service. 2 helpers were at the property at the time of arrival and for most of our stay there. They cooked us local thai food, which was great. And in general they were very helpful
