The staff behind the front desk genuinely seemed happy to see guests, not just going through the motions like you get at some places. Check-in was smooth, and they actually remembered my name when I passed by later – little things like that stick with you, you know? The rooms are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple.” Nothing flashy, but everything works exactly like it should. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom had decent water pressure – honestly, that’s half the battle right there. The air conditioning didn’t sound like a freight train, which I appreciated during those warm afternoons when you just want to crash for an hour.

What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve managed to create this relaxed atmosphere without trying too hard. There’s a small pool area that’s never overcrowded – I think because most people don’t realize it’s tucked away behind the main building. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the property, which seems basic but you’d be amazed how many places mess that up. And the restaurant? Well, it’s not going to win any awards, but they do a solid breakfast and their evening menu has a few local dishes that are worth trying. I particularly liked how they source some ingredients locally – you can taste the difference in the vegetables.

The location grew on me too. At first glance, it might not seem like the most exciting spot, but you’re actually within easy reach of several interesting areas without being right in the middle of tourist chaos. There’s decent parking (free, which is becoming rare), and it’s quiet enough at night that you can actually sleep with the windows open if you want. The 8.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. I’d definitely go back, especially if I wanted a comfortable base without all the fuss and inflated prices of the bigger hotels.
