Nonnee Hotel Kata Beach Phuket Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Nonnee Hotel Kata Beach Phuket? The moment I walked into the lobby, it didn’t feel like your typical beach hotel trying too hard to impress. There’s this relaxed, almost understated vibe that actually works really well – I mean, the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests rather than just going through the motions. The whole place has this clean, modern feel without being sterile, and honestly, for a three-star property, they’re punching way above their weight class. The rooms are bigger than I expected, and the beds are surprisingly comfortable (trust me, I’m picky about mattresses after too many nights on questionable hotel bedding).
What really sold me on this place though is the location – you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Kata Beach, which is perfect because you avoid that whole crowded Patong scene but you’re still close enough to everything. I actually prefer Kata to some of the more famous beaches in Phuket because it’s got this nice local feel, especially in the evenings when the day-trippers head back to their resorts. The hotel sits on this quiet side street, so you don’t get the constant buzz of scooters and tuk-tuks all night (which, let’s be honest, can drive you crazy in some parts of Thailand). There’s a great little coffee shop just around the corner that the locals actually use – not just tourists – and the night market is close enough that you can smell the grilled satay from the hotel entrance.
The pool area is where this place really shines, actually. It’s not huge, but it’s thoughtfully designed with enough shade that you can hang out there during the brutal midday sun without turning into a lobster. I spent most afternoons there with a book, and the pool bar makes a decent Thai iced tea (though their cocktails are pretty standard tourist fare, nothing special). The WiFi works well throughout the property, which matters if you’re trying to stay connected, and the air conditioning in the rooms is powerful enough to actually cool things down – you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. Check-in was smooth, parking isn’t an issue if you rent a scooter, and the whole experience just felt… well, comfortable. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re exploring a place as vibrant and sometimes overwhelming as Phuket.

I really liked this hostel! The staff was super sweet and accommodating, the dorms and bathrooms were clean and they had big lockers to fit all my stuff. I did like the vibe, but not as social if you are the shy type. It was close to restaurants and 7/11 which is great. You should rent a scooter or use grab/bolt if you don’t like to walk far in the heat.
Marysol from Spain (10/10)
Very clear dorms with large beds. The pool area was also very nice and they have a spacious lobby where you can play pool.
There are some local restaurants and coff shops on the way to the beach, very good.Adilet from Kazakhstan (8/10)

Lovely property with nice rooms and a lovely pool area to chill in. Always plenty of sun loungers to use which was a plus. Having the hostel element within the hotel, I was quite worried about it being noisy as it has an open plan layout. We were pleasantly surprised as it was very quiet and everyone was respectful of noise levels. There is a washing machine and dryer on site which was great as we could do our laundry for 50 baht. Beds were quite hard but when explained this to staff they provided me with a couple extra duvets which eased the problem. It is around a 20 minute walk from the beach, this wasn’t an issue for us as it was nice to be out of the main area and there were some great places to eat nearby and a 711 5 minutes away.

Nicely separated beds with a little privacy although it was a dorm. Minimalistic breakfast was free

Amazing price amazing facilities amazing ppl !Eleni from Ireland (9/10)
Room was perfect, we arrived early and could use the pool while we waited to check in. There are great places to eat nearby and a 7/11 two minutes away. It is a bit of a walk to the beach (25 mins approx) which was fine in the morning but a bit hard in the afternoon heat.
