First Impressions

Walking into Newly Opened – Blu Monkey Hub and Hotel Laguna, Bangtao, you immediately get that fresh, modern vibe that comes with a brand-new property. Everything still has that crisp, untouched feel — from the sleek lobby design to the spotless floors. The staff is clearly eager to make a good impression, and honestly, it shows in how attentive they are to every detail. You can tell they’re still working out some of the kinks that come with any new opening, but there’s an energy here that’s pretty infectious.

Location & Getting Around

The hotel sits right on Lagoon Road in Bang Tao Beach, and I have to say, couples seem to have figured out something special about this spot — they’re rating the location 8.5 out of 10. What I love about this area is that you’re close enough to the beach action but not drowning in the chaos of the main tourist strips. Bang Tao has this more relaxed, upscale feel compared to Patong or Kata, and you’ll find some excellent beachfront restaurants within walking distance. The free private parking is actually a huge plus here — you know how tricky it can be to find decent parking in popular beach areas in Phuket.

The Room Experience

My room had that contemporary Thai design that doesn’t try too hard — clean lines, warm wood accents, and those floor-to-ceiling windows that actually open (not always a given in newer hotels). The air conditioning works like a dream, which you’ll appreciate after spending time in Thailand’s humidity. What impressed me most was the attention to small details — good water pressure in the shower, plenty of outlets near the bed, and blackout curtours that actually block out light. Being a four-star property, you get solid comfort without the premium pricing of the five-star resorts down the coast.

Breakfast & Dining

The buffet breakfast is where this place really surprised me. For a newly opened hotel, they’ve got the spread figured out — proper Thai options alongside Western favorites, fresh tropical fruits, and decent coffee (which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in Thailand). The restaurant area has this open, airy feel that catches the morning breeze nicely. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s definitely solid and sets you up well for a day of exploring or beach lounging.

Why Guests Love It

Recent guests have been rating this place 8.7 for location, and after staying here, I get it. You’re getting that sweet spot of being accessible to Bang Tao’s best bits without paying the premium of beachfront properties. The newness factor means everything works properly — no quirky plumbing or tired furniture that you sometimes encounter at older properties. Plus, the staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, probably because they’re still building their reputation. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re getting good value without any major compromises.
