The water’s cleaner than the more popular beaches, and honestly, the sunsets are ridiculous. I spent way too many evenings just sitting on their beachfront terrace with a Chang beer, watching the sky turn every shade of orange and pink. The resort’s restaurant does solid Thai food (their green curry actually has some heat to it), and while it’s not going to win any culinary awards, it hits the spot after a day in the sun. If you want more variety, there are a few local spots within walking distance along the beach road, including this little family-run place that does incredible pad thai for like 80 baht.

What I really appreciated was how quiet everything gets after about 9 PM – this isn’t a party destination, which depending on what you’re after, is either perfect or disappointing. The pool area stays lit up nicely for evening swims, and there’s something almost magical about floating around under the stars with the sound of waves just beyond the palm trees. The rooms are comfortable without being fancy – good AC, decent Wi-Fi, and those little touches like fresh flowers that show someone cares. Just don’t expect ultra-modern everything; it’s more charm than sleek design, if that makes sense.
