You know what really surprised me about Moonlight Cottage? I walked in expecting some quaint-but-basic place, and honestly, this three-star spot completely exceeded what I thought I’d get. The whole vibe hits you right when you step inside – there’s this warm, lived-in feeling that makes you forget you’re staying somewhere temporary.

The rooms actually have character, which is saying something these days. I mean, sure, it’s not luxury by any stretch, but everything feels thoughtfully done. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and they’ve got these little touches that show someone cares – like decent coffee makers and windows that actually open, which you’d be amazed how many places skip. The WiFi worked perfectly throughout my stay, no dead zones or constant reconnecting, which honestly made my remote work days so much smoother than expected. What really got me was how quiet it stays at night. You’d think a smaller place might have thin walls, but I never heard neighbors, and the location keeps you away from any street noise without feeling isolated.

The staff here – and I don’t say this lightly – actually seem to enjoy their jobs. Check-in was quick and friendly, none of that rushed hotel chain energy. They know the area well too, gave me solid recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t just the obvious tourist places. Parking‘s easy and free, which saved me from the usual downtown headache of circling blocks or paying ridiculous garage fees. I stayed during what seemed like a busy weekend, and even then, everything ran smoothly. The common areas stay clean without feeling sterile, and there’s this little garden space outside that’s perfect for morning coffee if you’re an early riser like me. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with fancy amenities, but sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really well and feels genuine. That’s exactly what you get here, and honestly, I’d book it again without hesitation.

  Very friendly staff, nice rooms with a view to the garden, very calm area, sweet cats.

  Quiet and beautiful spacious rooms. A/c, fridge and nice balcony. Ideally located near pier for Bang Rong Pier ferry, just a 10 minute taxi which they organised for us. Delcious Meals available.

  A nice and quiet property close to Bang Rong Pier. The room and bathroom are very spacious and the patio out the front is nice too. The bed is comfortable and the air con is great. Only stayed a night before flying out, but would definitely stay again.
