This three-star spot genuinely feels like someone’s caring mother opened up her house to travelers, if that mother happened to have impeccable taste and a real knack for hospitality.

The whole vibe is refreshingly unpretentious – you walk in and immediately feel your shoulders drop. There’s this warmth that’s hard to fake, probably because the staff actually seems to give a damn about whether you’re comfortable. I mean, the front desk person remembered I liked extra pillows from day one, and honestly, that’s the kind of attention that makes a difference when you’re dealing with unfamiliar beds and time zones. The rooms have this lived-in comfort without feeling worn down – think quality linens that have been washed just enough to be perfectly soft, and furniture that looks like it was chosen because someone actually wanted to sit in it, not because it photographed well. The bathrooms are surprisingly generous too, with water pressure that actually works and those little touches like decent lighting around the mirror that show someone was thinking practically.

What really sold me though was how the place operates day to day. Mornings are quiet – you can actually sleep in without construction noise or housekeeping banging around at 7 AM. The common areas have this easy flow where you can grab coffee and hang out without feeling like you’re in someone’s way, and there’s usually something interesting happening – maybe locals stopping by to chat, or other travelers sharing stories about whatever hidden gem they’d discovered that day. I actually ended up extending my stay because I realized I was using this place as my home base perfectly – somewhere I could recharge between adventures without feeling like I was just crashing in some anonymous room. The whole experience reminded me why I travel in the first place, which sounds cheesy but is surprisingly rare these days.

  Quiet place is located near Phuket center, better to get there by bike. The hostess is very hospitable, looks after all the premises. Washing machines are on the first floor. I am happy with the trip.

  A very nice lady runs the place. She gave me good tips for the area and was very kind. A very comfortable little flat in a quiet area that's only about 20 mins from the old town. There's couple of small shops and places to eat in the area as well.

  Mimi is super host, very attentive and careful, great person and she speaks English very well. The room and the house was really cozy and with a good vibe 🙂 I found location is perfect even if you are not riding bike or car, it is in quiet and peaceful area but still not too far away from Old Town Centre.

  Staying at Mom’s Home was of the best experiences I’ve had with Booking.com. The property is located in an authentic Thai area yet within walking distance of the Old Town, Phuket Central and the beauty spot of Rang Hill. It’s the sort of location where, the second time they see you, the locals greet you like an old friend. Yet there is a good selection of shops and restaurants nearby. Mimi was the perfect hostess: welcoming, helpful and a source of great advice and information.
